Statement of Faith
What We Believe
“Edifying the Christian believer; reaffirming a Christ-centered faith in a fallen world; and encouraging everyday people to live for Christ.”
We believe in the great commandment to Love God and Love others.
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matt. 22:37-39 NIV) “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.” (1 John 4:11 KJV)
We believe in the Triune God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
“…yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” (1 Cor. 8:6 NKJV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” (John 1:1-2 NIV) “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Cor. 3:17 NIV)
We believe in the infallibility of God’s Word.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17 NKJV)
We believe in the Unity of the body of Christ.
“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Eph. 4:3-6 NIV) “Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.” (Col. 1:18 NLT)
We believe in the regeneration, indwelling and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Rom. 8:14 KJV) “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;” (1 Cor. 6:19 NIV) “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” (1 Cor. 2:12 KJV)
We believe we are called to walk and live circumspectly as Christians.
“So I, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called [that is, to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior—a life that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation],with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining self-control], with patience, bearing with one another in [unselfish] love.” (Eph. 4:1-2 AMP)
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.” (Eph. 5:15 KJV)
We believe Christians have been saved by grace through faith, and salvation is available for all through Christ Jesus.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Eph. 2:8 KJV) “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Rom. 10:9; 13 NLT) “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV)
We believe that the people of God are to be equipped and edified for the work of ministry and for the body of Christ.
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built upuntil we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Eph. 4:11-13 NIV)
We believe in speaking truth in love.
“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” (Eph. 4:15 AMP)
We believe that we are created in God’s image and have a renewed life in and through Christ Jesus.
“…that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” (Eph. 4:22-24 NKJV)
We believe in the promise and outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams…And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:17; 21 NKJV)
